 Dynamic Process Analysis

A system or process that exhibits ongoing evolution or persistent change throughout time is said to be dynamic. To put it another way, this process is dynamic because it is always evolving. Informal business techniques are used in dynamic processes to help managers make less structured judgments. In summary, a person's judgment is the primary determining factor.  The textbook defines dynamic structure as adaptable, informal, and flexible procedures that typically entail managerial choices and actions that are less specific and more strategic.  Examples of dynamic processes are frequently marketing or collaborative procedures. Our group has made the decision to concentrate only on social media marketing, specifically Instagram. Social media has had a significant impact on how businesses interact with consumers. Instagram is the most popular marketing channel across all of Target's social media channels.

Target has created an Instagram social media strategy. The objective has consistently been to increase customer involvement, which may result in conversion and product recommendations in the event that a piece gains widespread attention. They have scheduled live events for this reason. To share their experiences with target businesses, they recruit influencers such as Pablo Lopez, Taylor Swift, and many other celebrities. They frequently use social media, where users interact with customers on a daily basis. Increases in the number of page views, likes, reposts, and comments are examples of key performance indicators, often known as success metrics. Target's target demographics include many Gen-Z consumers and residents in low-income areas.  Targets page would be beneficial to people since it would keep them informed about the newest trends in fashion, sales, holiday survival tips, and shop advancements. When people share their thoughts on their personal instagram pages, personal connections are created, and when they repost product reviews online for customers to buy. Target may approach a person or brand for a paid endorsement or collaboration if they have a specific amount of resources or following that would be beneficial towards the company.

Through viewing their Instagram page, which is pictured below, you can build an understanding that they use their pages to acquire and retain a following of customers. They link their shopping site to their Instagram account to increase access to their website and encourage users to shop. Their success metrics are the amount of followers gained and number of likes along with comments underneath their posts. Target’s target audience is younger and more technologically savvy, as they appeal to their audience with memes, keeping up with online trends, and showcasing creators that are commonly referred to as fun, energetic, relatable, and optimistic. They provide the value of growing a strong community surrounding their business, creating hashtags such as #TargetRun to strengthen this bond and create a relatable hashtag that both grows brand recognition and their reputation. They also grant those who follow these pages deals and offers that can be used in-store or online. This encourages the customer to continue to shop at their stores and stay up-to-date on Target’s socials.Unfortunately though they do use tools such as Google Analytics or the Facebook Page insights, it is not made public for those who are not owners of their social media accounts.

Social Capital is the network of relationships among people who live and work in a particular society, enabling that society to function effectively. The value that this brings to the company is that it continues to create relationships for the business which promotes growth. The reputation that Target has, allows for future collaborations with celebrities, other businesses and this can lead into expanding the business into new industries .Using programs such as Target Circle and RedCard helps foster customer loyalty and repeat business. This then leads to an increased revenue because loyal customers tend to spend more and recommend Target to other possible consumers.

Formula:
Social Capital = (Number of Relationships) x (Relationship Strength) x (Resource Value)

Target has around 6.1 million followers on Instagram and has a resource value of approximately $100. The rate for relationship strength could be rated at 6% due to the high level of loyalty from its consumers.

Social Capital = 6,100,000 x 6 x 100

Social Capital = 3,660,000,000

Enterprise Social Network is a software platform that uses SM to facilitate cooperative work of people within an organization. ESN is a private online platform used by employees within a company to communicate, share information, collaborate on projects, and stay updated on company news it is supposed to help with communication, collaboration, decision making and problem solving. The brand of ESN that Target uses is Workplace from Meta. This platform enables employees to communicate, collaborate, and share information across the organization in a way similar to social media, but within a secure enterprise environment. Enterprise 2.0 uses emergent social software platforms with companies, or between companies, partners or customers. SLATES refers to the components of Enterprise 2.0 which are Search, Links, Authoring, Tags, Extensions, and Signals. Target uses search, authoring, tags and signals.

Target handles SMIS security concerns by posting their social media policy for everybody to see so if a customer feels like they've been wronged by an employee online they can bring this up. For Target's social media policy, employees aren’t allowed to talk negatively about the store and keep everything appropriate. Also try not to say anything that can be controversial, try and just keep everything basic and clean. When it comes to managing inappropriate content Target uses an automated system that filters stuff and checks for any flagged content that may give their brand image a bad look. When it comes to unfavorable reviews depending on what was said there are a few things that Target does. They either remove the review altogether, restrict certain people from being able to post a review, or they can just respond to it if it's in their best interest. Down below is an example of a Target in Australia emailing a customer back about a review they had.
